Becoming A Woman

Workshops for Fathers & Daughters

A personalised event for fathers wanting to deepen their connection with their Maiden daughter, by understanding the magic and power of this transformative time in their lives.

Dads are welcomed to share their wisdom while exploring with their daughters the wondrous connection between the menstrual cycle and all other cycles in nature. This is a deep bonding experience, which can shape the unique and precious relationship between a father and his teenage daughter, setting the foundation for a connected and trusting relationship.

The Journey

The gathering is conducted in a circle format over two sessions:

  • First session for the fathers only (Friday session 7:00 - 9:30 pm).

  • Second session for fathers and daughters together (Saturday session 12:00 - 3:30 pm).

The fathers are invited to share some of their knowledge and the basics of the cycle will be explained, linking it to the cycles of the moon and earth seasons. Martina will conduct a meditation in the form of a shamanic drum journey to meet with the Circle of the Grandmothers and our own Inner Goddess.

The Gifts

  • The Maidens get the opportunity to share a special connection with their fathers, in a safe and loving space. Everyone will gain a deeper understanding of the spiritual aspects of the menstrual cycle and learn practical tools to work with its energy in their every day life.

  • Together we will become more conscious of how menstrual shame and the patriarchal culture have impacted women’s lives on a subliminal level, and we will reclaim our power and divine nature, for ourselves and our daughters.

  • A variety of eco-friendly menstrual products of different brands will be displayed for perusal, including menstrual cups, reusable pads and period undies.

  • Each Maiden receives a copy of “Becoming – a Woman, a guide for girls approaching menstruation”, and print outs of the workshop contents.

“The mapping out part of the session on the whiteboard was probably one of the more powerful ‘aha’ moments for Sophia and Edward. It brought a lot together.”
